Painting Competition:

A painting competition was held on 15 February 2008, at the India Habitat Learning Centre.
Three children from three different centres participated in the drawing competition.  

Cultural Programme:

A cultural evening was organized on 17 February 2008 at the India Habitat Learning Centre. Thirteen children from the Vasant Gaon Centre participated in two events. Three children gave a dance performance, while ten children participated in an English role-play.  

Field trip:

A field trip was organized on 4 March 2008 for 112 children from Kakrola, Mohan Garden, Sangam Vihar 1 & 2 centres. The children visited Rail Museum, Nehru Museum and Nehru Planetarium. Six Staff of AAMF accompanied the children during the trip.  

Volunteers’ Programme:

Twenty-five student volunteers from Lady Sriram College worked with the children of Neb Sarai Centre on 23 November 2007. They arranged puppet show and story-telling sessions. They also interacted with the parents.  

July 2004 - Event of the month on “Transport”

An awareness program on “Transport” was held during the month of July. In this program the AAMF children did coloring of the light signal and zebra crossing.
They also did pasting of the means of transportation in air, water and land. For making the event interesting and joyous for the children paper folding was done in which they made boat, steamer and airplane. Also stories/rhymes on transportation were told to the children. 

From AAMF to Municipal Schools

After completing their one year in AAMF schools the children got admissions in their nearby local municipal schools. This year around 400 AAMF children got the admission till now.

Ms Sujata Kumar of Vasant Vihar has started donating fruits (for sixty children) twice in a week from 6th July 2004.

Meeting for awareness on Communicable diseases – 16th June 2004

‘Prevention is better than cure’, keeping this million-dollar point in mind an awareness program for communicable diseases was organized. Our education advisor Dr. Col. Manna educated about the various diseases caused by air, water, blood etc. He told about diseases like jaundice, malaria, dysentery, diarrhea, typhoid, cholera, T.B., influenza, dengue etc. and also told about the prevention measures.

Effects of Heat and Personal Hygiene- 9th June 2004

The effect of heat can cause health problems. Dr. Col. Manna made awareness about the effects of heat. He explained various problems such as heat cramp, external injuries, caused due to heat, and also gave some preventions and treatments. He also made an emphasis on how personal hygiene is important and should be taught to the children.

Workshop with Nirmal Puri on Teacher – Student relationship- 7th May 2004

The easiest way to make children learn is to become a child with them and make them understand the things their way, in the most easiest and expressive way. This was the motto of the workshop in which Ms Nirmal Puri explained the different ways in which a child should be made interactive with the teacher. She explained the teacher- student relationship, on how to encourage students by making them aware of their positive points.

Workshop on re-use of waste material- 29th April 2004

Do not waste waste material, this is what Ms Rama Sharma demonstrated in a workshop held. She explained how to use waste material and make different projects. She also gave a demonstration of some of the painting especially for children.

Meeting on awareness of Birth Certificate - 15th March & 25th 2004

A session with mothers was held, about details regarding the procedure for birth certificate, which is mandatory for admission in MCD School. The session was held at two places, Vasant Gaon & Nebsarai center on 15th March & 25th 2004 March respectively.

Disciplinary Points Discussion – 1 March 2004

With the growing need to get children educated, there should be certain disciplinary & problem-solving steps too for making them aware & interested about what exactly we are looking for. A meeting regarding this was held with teachers in which points such as regularity & punctuality of children & teachers organization were discussed.

Katha an NGO – 2-7 Jan 2004

“Birbal ka Badaa Mazaa” a story festival was organized by Katha at India International Center. An interaction was also held with divine guests like Kapil Dev, Sharmila Tagore, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonal Mansingh, Barkha Dutt, Dipti Naval etc. which in itself was a memorable moment for our 15 children and 4 teachers, who were invited to attend another exciting program for story telling, reading session, spot painting, face painting, magic show, dance etc.
