Meeting of Teachers:

The monthly meeting of teachers was held on 5 May12. Thirty six teaching staff, all NFE staff members and AAMF advisors attended the meeting.  

FEC Trainers Training Program:

A two day long (2-3 May 2012) Trainers training program was organized for FEC trainers and FEC personnel at AAMF office. The program was facilitated by Mrs.Payal Mahajan and Mr.Sandeep Mahajan from ‘Art of Learning’.  

Heritage walk:
Children should know and conserve our natural and built heritage. To promote conservation of built and natural heritage in the Delhi the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC) organised a heritage walk at Dargah at Hazrat Nizamuddin on 28 April 2012. It covered Chaunsath- Khamba, Ghalib’s Tomb, Jama’at-Khana Masjid, Tomb of Jahanara, Amir Khusrau’s Tomb, Baoli and the central complex of the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. Twenty five students, 5 teachers from five different NFE centres have participated. 

Visit to Indira Gandhi Museum:

On 28 April 2012, twenty five NFE students visited Indira Gandhi Museum at Safdarjurng Road, New Delhi. The children watched a movie on Indira Gandhi’s life. Children also saw the collection of rare photographs of the freedom movement, the personal memorabilia of the Nehru-Gandhi family and her childhood photographs with the Mahatma.  

Visit to Mother Dairy Factory:
Sixty students from Bhalaswa NFE centers # 1 and # 2 visited Mother Dairy Factory on 28 April 2012.They watched a movie on processing of milk how it reaches the consumer from farm. They saw different machines used for different purpose. 

Trip to Gandhi Smriti:

On 28th April, Children from Bhalaswa NFE center visited Gandhi Smriti. They got an exposure to life, mission and thought of ‘Father of Nation’. The children were enjoyed the educational media like exhibition, films, posters, radio docu- drama etc. 

Earth Day:

On the Earth day (22 April 2012) AAMF children came together to promote a cleaner, safer environment and joined the awareness campaign to protect the earth for future generations. They participated in varieties of activities like painting competition, quiz competition, games etc. organized by the American Center, New Delhi. They also watched a film show “Dolphin tale” at American center.  

New FEC at Wazirpur:

A new FEC was started at Wazirpur on 21 April 2012 collaborating with a NGO called “Jan Utthan Sangh” Presently we have registered 67 students. 

Visit to National Science Center:

On 21 April 2012, Fifty-eight students from Gautampuri and Okhla visited National Science center. The children engaged the science demonstration show and learnt progress and achievements in various field of science and technology. They also enjoyed the 3D movie.  

New FEC Center:

A new FEC at Kotla, Mubarak Pur was started on 20 April 2012. Society for Promotion of Youth & Masses (SPYM) a non-government organization provided space for the center. Within a short span of time, we have registered 125. 

Professional Training Workshop:

A two day long (9-10April 2012) Professional development workshop was organized for FEC trainers and FEC personnel at AAMF office. It was facilitated by ‘Art of Learning’.  

Visit to Museums:

A field trip to Gandhi Smriti and Airforce Museum was organized on Sunday 8, April 2012. Sixty students from Chanakyapuri, J,J,Bandhu camp and Meherauli visited the Museums.

New FEC at Vinod Puri:
A new FEC was inaugurated at Mahavir Enclave, Vinod Puri on 31 March 2012. PHD Family Welfare Foundation (a charitable organization) provided a space for the center. Presently we have 90 students. Read more

Sixty students from Viswash Park and Kakrola center attended the programme on ‘Enviornment Day’ at National Science Center on 30 March 2012.  Read more

A session with Physician at Delhi Doordarshan Bhavan:

35 students participated in the program - “Health issue in slum” at Delhi Doordarshan Studio, Mandi House on 29, March 2012. There was a discussion session followed by question answer session. The discussion and question-answer session between the AAMF students and the Physicians were lively and educative. The programme was telecasted on Doordarshan channel on 2 April 2012.  Read more

A visit to Nehru Museum:

On 29 March 2012, sixty students from Molarband and Sangam Vihar # 3 visited the Nehru Museum at Teen Murti Bhawan. Students got to know about life and works of Nehru as well as about the freedom struggle.  Read more

25 students from Molarband and Sangam Vihar# 1 visited National Museum of Natural History on 29 March 2012. Read more

New FEC at Seelam Pur:

A new FEC was inaugurated at New Seelam Pur on 28, March 2012. Presently we have 30 students. We are in process of enrolling more students.  Read more

Drawing Competition:
Twenty students from Kusumpur Pahari # 1, 2 & 3 Sangam vihar # 1 participated in a drawing competition held at National Science Center (NSC) on 27 March 2012. Competing with the students from Private schools, Puja and Kiran from AAMF secured 1st and 3rd position respectively.  Read more

New Feeding Center:

A new feeding center was started at Kalibasti, Uttamnagar from 26 March 2012. Most of the people of the area are beggars and rag pickers and deprived of food. They love to take the food from our kitchen at free of cost.  Read more

Excursion to Zoo:

Students from Hanuman camp, Ekta vihar and Ambedkar visited National Zoological Park, New Delhi on 11 and 18 of March 2012 respectively.  Read more

New FEC Center:

A new FEC was inaugurated at New Industrial Township, Faridabad on 9 March 2012. Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Education Society provided a space for the center. Presently we have 60 students. We are in process of enrolling more students.  Read more

New Feeding Center:

A feeding center was opened at Bhalaswa from 3 February 2012 for hungry and malnourished. Approximated 150 people and children take food. Read more

Field Trip:

A field trip to National Zoological Park was organized on Sunday 19, February 2012. Sixty students from Nepali camp, Vasant Gaon and Kusumpur Pahari # 3 and four staff members visited the Zoo. Read more

Meeting of teachers:

The monthly meeting of teachers was held on 4 February 12 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Thirty six teaching staff, all office staff and AAMF Advisors attended the meeting. We discussed the syllabus for the month of February 2012.Ms Reema Gupta, the teacher of Ambedkar camp gave a presentation on “Balance Diet”. We organized a documentary film show through Laptop on "Food". Read more

English Grammar session:
Ms.Sushana Ullah, a volunteer from California, took English grammar class for NFE teachers on 24th January 2012. 45 staff members and AAMF Advisors attended the class.  Read more

A new center was started at Sanjay Gandhi Camp, Chanakya Puri on 4 January 2012. We have registered 40 students.  Read more  

Field Trips:

Students from Sultanpuri # 1, 2, Tigri #1, Nebsarai # 2 and # 3 visited National Zoological Park New Delhi on 14, 21 and 28 January 2012 respectively. Students enjoyed the mini bird sanctuary, watching animals and also plants from different countries. The teachers held discussion with the students regarding zoo animals and migration of birds in their respective centers before their field trip.  Read more  

English session:
Ms.Sushana Ullah, a volunteer from California USA took an Eng grammar session for NFE teachers on 18 January 2012. Forty five staff members and AAMF Advisors were present in her class. Read more  

Painting Competition:
A painting competition was held on 15 February 2008, at the India Habitat Learning Centre.
Three children from three different centres participated in the drawing competition.  

Cultural Programme:
A cultural evening was organized on 17 February 2008 at the India Habitat Learning Centre. Thirteen children from the Vasant Gaon Centre participated in two events. Three children gave a dance performance, while ten children participated in an English role-play.  

Field trip:
A field trip was organized on 4 March 2008 for 112 children from Kakrola, Mohan Garden, Sangam Vihar 1 & 2 centres. The children visited Rail Museum, Nehru Museum and Nehru Planetarium. Six Staff of AAMF accompanied the children during the trip.  

Volunteers’ Programme:
Twenty-five student volunteers from Lady Sriram College worked with the children of Neb Sarai Centre on 23 November 2007. They arranged puppet show and story-telling sessions. They also interacted with the parents.  

July 2004 - Event of the month on “Transport”
An awareness program on “Transport” was held during the month of July. In this program the AAMF children did coloring of the light signal and zebra crossing.
They also did pasting of the means of transportation in air, water and land. For making the event interesting and joyous for the children paper folding was done in which they made boat, steamer and airplane. Also stories/rhymes on transportation were told to the children. 

From AAMF to Municipal Schools
After completing their one year in AAMF schools the children got admissions in their nearby local municipal schools. This year around 400 AAMF children got the admission till now.

Ms Sujata Kumar of Vasant Vihar has started donating fruits (for sixty children) twice in a week from 6th July 2004.

Meeting for awareness on Communicable diseases – 16th June 2004
‘Prevention is better than cure’, keeping this million-dollar point in mind an awareness program for communicable diseases was organized. Our education advisor Dr. Col. Manna educated about the various diseases caused by air, water, blood etc. He told about diseases like jaundice, malaria, dysentery, diarrhea, typhoid, cholera, T.B., influenza, dengue etc. and also told about the prevention measures.

Effects of Heat and Personal Hygiene- 9th June 2004
The effect of heat can cause health problems. Dr. Col. Manna made awareness about the effects of heat. He explained various problems such as heat cramp, external injuries, caused due to heat, and also gave some preventions and treatments. He also made an emphasis on how personal hygiene is important and should be taught to the children.

Workshop with Nirmal Puri on Teacher – Student relationship- 7th May 2004
The easiest way to make children learn is to become a child with them and make them understand the things their way, in the most easiest and expressive way. This was the motto of the workshop in which Ms Nirmal Puri explained the different ways in which a child should be made interactive with the teacher. She explained the teacher- student relationship, on how to encourage students by making them aware of their positive points.

Workshop on re-use of waste material- 29th April 2004
Do not waste waste material, this is what Ms Rama Sharma demonstrated in a workshop held. She explained how to use waste material and make different projects. She also gave a demonstration of some of the painting especially for children.

Meeting on awareness of Birth Certificate - 15th March & 25th 2004
A session with mothers was held, about details regarding the procedure for birth certificate, which is mandatory for admission in MCD School. The session was held at two places, Vasant Gaon & Nebsarai center on 15th March & 25th 2004 March respectively.

Disciplinary Points Discussion – 1 March 2004
With the growing need to get children educated, there should be certain disciplinary & problem-solving steps too for making them aware & interested about what exactly we are looking for. A meeting regarding this was held with teachers in which points such as regularity & punctuality of children & teachers organization were discussed.

Katha an NGO – 2-7 Jan 2004
“Birbal ka Badaa Mazaa” a story festival was organized by Katha at India International Center. An interaction was also held with divine guests like Kapil Dev, Sharmila Tagore, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonal Mansingh, Barkha Dutt, Dipti Naval etc. which in itself was a memorable moment for our 15 children and 4 teachers, who were invited to attend another exciting program for story telling, reading session, spot painting, face painting, magic show, dance etc.
